This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
So this morning I had my back molars extracted, not my wisdom teeth. We all concluded that, because they were so rotten to begin with, and that my top wisdom teeth were beginning to come in, it'd be best to just extract the bad set and let the new ones grow in in their place. Either way, I'd have needed extractions anyway, but it's better than getting that and root canals. I definitely need to quit drinking the Coca Cola. They say that's the main issue. :[ Sigh.
Anyway, the procedure was rather frightening. I was confident when I came in, and I was positive that I could just handle being numbed and would be on my way. But as it turned out, even with being pumped full of as much medication as I could medically and possibly have, the teeth were so rotten and bad that it still stung like a bitch! But thankfully I was treated with the laughing gas shortly thereafter, and I felt quite giddy and bubbly enough to pull through with the actual procedure. It was pleasantly smooth and quick.
A question to those who have recently had their wisdom teeth taken out: Once the numbing wore off, did you find yourself in excruciating pain, or at least some sort of pain? The reason I'm asking is because I'm not in any pain or discomfort at ALL right now, and the areas don't feel swollen or tender. XD And my numbing just wore off about half an hour ago. I don't know if this is normal but hey, I'm not complaining!
In other news, my parents and I are hoping to move into my grandmother's previous house next month. We haven't started packing at all because we aren't sure if we're even, well, GETTING it, much less still be living in our current place (we've already surrendered it...), so we are all sort of confused and worried. But we've been recently reassured that we are definitely going to be moving and we just have to sort out when exactly in August we'll be leaving with grandma and we'll be on our way.
To those who've asked to be featured, I will update this journal again later on today with your features. ^^ Right now I just really want to sit back and relax (and figure out something tasty I can eat...). [/end update]
1) Be one of the first 9 people to comment on this journal. I'll add you to the list. 2) I will choose 3 deviations from your gallery to feature with your username/icon. 3) Post this in your journal with ME as your first person and feature 9 others.
And you don't have to be a subscriber to do the features! Adding links to deviations, instead of thumbs, is a-okay too!
1. *SmyrnaSketcher An ever improving artist in every way possible! 8D With each and every drawing, one can tell that she always practices on her artwork every chance she gets. Her anatomy, the way she colors, just... everything improves all the time! It's quite astonishing! ;D
Pokemang - COLORS For using a technique that's never really been attempted before, this is an absolutely stunning first-time job at it! The way she colored the wonderful line art by *3nrique gave the image life, which is something not many people can pull off very easily.
Patronustrip .: prize art :. I'm not much of an Avatar: The Last Airbender fan, but I love the anatomy on this. The facial expressions on all three are very nice, as well as THOSE HANDS. I'm jealous of her ability to DRAW HANDS. ROOOOOAR. But seriously, the coloring job on this is stellar, too. I can has be jealous? :]
Something in the Trees - Color A bit more cartoony but still containing such nice anatomical accuracies that I'd never be able to pull off. : D I'm in love with the way she drew the characters, I'm not sure why, but I really, really do. I've always wanted to have a similar style but FAILED. Miserably. >: (Oh, and I also like the shading and fluffiness of their coats! <3)
2. ~InnocentSageGreen My first friend and watcher on deviantART! : D Kathryn here is such a lovely person to get to know, and let's not forget how much of a talented writer she is! All of her writings, although brief, are extremely powerful and heartfelt. Her vocabulary is extraordinary and writing style tremendously unique. She is also quite the artist as well (Marked and Hunted: Wide Eyes), but it was just SO INCREDIBLY HARD TO CHOOSE JUST THREE FAVORITES. SERIOUSLY. x___x
Anyway... XD
A Friendly Reminder Although short, it delivers. At just three stanzas long, it pulls furiously at my heartstrings. Unconditionally loving someone through all of the emotional (or even physical) pain is one of the most beautiful things in the world. You don't see or hear about love like that a lot these days.
Kitty Another one of her shorter writings, this particular piece really gets to me, as I'm sure that it will to all longtime pet owners. I had been in a similar situation with a previous dog of mine five or so years ago, so I can't say that this isn't personal to me... because it is. <3
Advent Her longest written piece, it is one of the saddest things I've read (but don't worry - that's what I enjoy about it ;D). Words cannot describe how much emotion this has pulled out of me. It is extremely touching and, as silly as it sounds, makes me want to reach out and give somebody a hug.
2. ~MarsArmy6277 An old internet friend of mine. :] A very sweet girl, her improvement in art and realism has grown quite drastically through her time here on deviantART. I admire her constant search for improvement, and it clearly shows in her art. I totally wish I could draw realistically as she does! <3
Savvy? This... is an obvious love from me. XD I lovelovelove Pirates of the Caribbean, so this is already full of awesomeness to begin with. What's more is that it LOOKS LIKE DEPP. YES. What I love best about it is the shading details in both the bandana and his gun. The gun especially! <333
Hangry I think this is one of, if not her best piece. The detail in this is just so amazing I can't even describe it. The time and patience invested into this must have been, well, a lot - more than I could ever take in or handle. XD I especially love how most of it is in black and white, but the highlights in her hair are a bright shade of magenta. Totally awesome.
Request for SummerGal7 I'm ashamed for not having seen this in my inbox before, and I feel terrible for finding this gem just last night. D: Oh my God, I'm just really sorry. Being one of her more cartoonier pieces, on top of being an unusual style for her to draw in, this is an excellent try and I applaud her for it. <3 I really like how the pencil sketchy-ness is still able to subtly be seen, personally I find it a really cool effect. I greatly enjoy the shading of the lillypad and I LOVE HOW NAVEEN CAME OUT. FUCK YEAH. She made him look sexy. Which is how he's supposed to be.
XDDD Thank you! I made this what seems like forever ago and I'm so glad people still comment on it! It's one of my favorite animated movies that isn't Disney. :3
